After 7-8 hours of work time, theyve concluded that MMI has a hardware problem and it needs to be replaced.

I tried to switch to navigation but the screen was still frozen and then I realized that nothing was working. Radio was playing normally, but whatever button I pressed on central panel (nav, tel, media, radio, back, car, volume etc.) nothing was working. I stopped the car, hard reset MMI but the problem was still there, the screen opened and radio was playing the same station. I drove home like that, turned off the car but the screen was still on playing radio. I was driving like that few more days but after the second day additional thing started to happen, MMI was restarting itself every 3 min. ![]() Ive noticed that after I turn it on, central commands do work for 2 sec. I presumed that maybe SW needs to be flashed or reinstalled again with an update. ![]() Audi A6 Mmi Not Working Software But ProblemCar wasnt showing any error codes, they reinstalled MMI software but problem was still there. After the MMI Audi boot logo, the picture is stuck at the initialization. Dealer wanted me to leave car for couple of days so that they can find what is causing the problem. Scheduled the second appointment now on Tuesday. Audi A6 2.0 2014 with 105000 km 65243 miles, regularly serviced at the authorized dealer here in Serbia. I searched the forum and found a similar problem: One more thought, I wasnt driving my car for one month before that ride when problem accrued. Maybe that impacted something I dont know, the battery is good, car is garaged. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and sorry for my English. I went on eBay and bought a used one from LKQ for 250 with 90 day warranty. Installed it myself and dealer charged 200-300 to program it. They are expensive thats for sure, but after all, these cars are like that, complex and expensive to maintain. If the problem opens to be MMI unit (4G0035670), I will go for the used one probably since I already planned to sell this car and go for the newer model. I will keep you updated as soon as they tell me what is the cause of this problem. I did bring the car to the dealer, and they try to solve the problem with software change and isolating all the other closed loop parts to see if maybe some of them are causing this.
